Are you an artist interested in strengthening civic life in your community?

Artists Respond: Roots of Democracy will support three artists in West Central Minnesota to create community-centered projects that inspire civic participation, foster connection across differences, and strengthen local communities.

Selected artists will receive $2,000 to develop and lead a creative project betweenSeptember 2026 and March 2027.

We're looking for artist-led projects—such as zines, performances, temporary installations, workshops, public art, storytelling events, or other creative experiences—that invite people to engage with one another, celebrate the shared power and joy of participating in community life, and explore local government, democracy, and civic participation in accessible, meaningful ways.

The deadline to apply is Monday, August 10.
